Talking On Cell While Driving

Six states have outlawed talking on the phone while driving. These states include; California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. I believe if a person is not committing any other violation of driving, such as swerving or following too closely, that talking on a cell while driving is acceptable. People should be perfectly capable of talking on the phone while driving as long as they are watching the road and not doing other things within their car. For people who frequently talk on the phone while driving, such as business people, I would suggest that they get a blue tooth or some other device that they don't need to physically hold. I do think that people should be scarce when talking or texting on their phone while driving. If it is not done with caution it can cause accidents and fatalities.

  1. I agree with you completely, outlawing cell phones while driving is nuts. A funny story though, my step sister was texting while driving and ran off the road into a hill, needless to say she did not take the turn. This was only a half mile away from the house too, so she knew the turn was there. Bottom line she is an idiot and the cell phone did distract her. Outlawing them though may be a little extreme.

  3. I agree with this. People should be able to talk on their cell phones while driving as long as it is not distracting them and they are paying attention to the roads. If someone talks on their phone a lot, they should use hands free devices to decrease their risks of crashing.

  4. I don't think that using cell phones while driving should be outlawed but people shouldn't be complete idiots and text while they are driving. It is so much easier to call the person or wait till they hit a red light or stop sign. It dangerous for people to try and text especially on the full keyboard phone.
